4-DAY RETREAT VIPASSANA MEDITATION AND MINDFULNESS LAS LAGUNAS DE NISIBÓN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

 

Welcome to our Vipassana Retreat

In this retreat, we cultivate mindfulness by kindly and lovingly directing our focus inwards and observing everything that presents itself WITHOUT JUDGMENT. Vipassana is a path of self-transformation through self-observation. The breath takes center stage, and at the same time, you will learn how to effectively deal with distracting thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in order to be present, awake and conscious at all times. These practices are complemented by the practice of loving-kindness and forgiveness, two key words in healing work and spiritual life. Vipassana can be practiced individually anytime and anywhere. A moment of silence in any situation of the day. A recollection and centering in moments of stress and anger, or as a daily ritual for a balanced and calm mind. Vipassana teaches us to relax physically and mentally, develop inner peace and a balanced state of consciousness, reactivate intuition and sensitive abilities, strengthen our self-esteem, and improve our connection with our body, mind, and soul. Vipassana is a self-helptool and serves to  prevent stress and burnout. Take the time to find peace, to feel and to discover yourself. Amidst all this, enjoy the beauty of the landscape in which the Phoenix is nestled and allow yourself to be inspired by nature and our loving accompaniment. Our retreat offers you the opportunity to disconnect from your everyday life and fully concentrate on your personal development and healing. Come and immerse yourself in a world full of possibilities and let us take you on a journey of self-discovery and transformation. Meaning of Vipassana

Vipassana meditation is a form of Buddhist meditation that aims for insight or realization (called “vipassana” in Pali). The purpose of this meditation is to recognize the true nature of things and liberate the mind from attachments and prejudices. Vipassana is often referred to as “breath meditation” as the focus is typically placed on the breath. The meditator observes the breath as it flows in and out, gently bringing his attention back whenever it drifts away. This helps to calm and focus the mind. Over time, the meditator will learn to direct his attention to other aspects of experience, such as feelings, thoughts, and physical sensations. Through the continuous observation of these phenomena without prejudices or judgments, the meditator can learn to see things as they truly are, thereby freeing his mind from attachments and preconceptions.

This valuable 4-day retreat includes:

  • 4 Vipassana meditations each with a theoretical introduction to the practice.
  • Exercises in loving kindness and forgiveness.
  • Small mindfulness exercises throughout the day.
  • 3 Qigong sessions in the morning before breakfast.
  • 3 evening meditations.
  • Breaks for retreat and reflection.
  • Delicious meals and drinks shared at the large table daily.
  • 3 nights in a double room with private bathroom and terrace.

Welcome to Phoenix Sanctuary

Our facilities include:
  • Reception area where you can receive all the important information for your stay.
  • Four lovingly furnished guest rooms with private bathrooms, private terrace with breathtaking views, king-size bed, ceiling fan, safe, and Wi-Fi.
  • Various outdoor and indoor areas for movement and relaxation exercises such as Tai Chi, Qigong, and meditation.
  • Open spaces for communal meals, shared exchanges, and encounters.
  • Guest kitchen for self-catering if desired.
  • Free parking on the premises.
The Phoenix Sanctuary is a completely smoke-free zone to ensure a pleasant and healthy stay for all guests. Therefore, we kindly ask you not to smoke during your stay. We look forward to welcoming you and providing you with a restful and inspiring experience at the Phoenix Sanctuary.
